Big Basin

My brother-in-law and I went to Big Basin last Friday. We were just going to take some pictures and hike to the falls. We ended up hiking the whole waterfall loop trail. All 11 miles. It was beautiful, stunning at places. At the end of the day we wanted to take sunset pictures of Natural Bridges in Santa Cruz. The sunset wasn't spectacular, the bird reflections were great though. Here are some pictures.

Eastern Sierras

Last week I went to the Eastern Sierras to shoot pictures of the fall colors. The trees were "on fire". It was spectacular pretty much everywhere. I drove from Bridgeport all the way to Bishop. Here is a sampling of some pictures I took.

First Pano

This my first panorama created with Microsoft ICE. Stitched the pictures together without a seem. I'm impressed by the program.
This pano was taken last week in the Eastern Sierras. While you don't see the fall colors in this picture, they were spectacular.

Davenport

My brother-in-law +Andy Barkley and I went to Davenport twice last weekend. On Saturday we went to the infamous Davenport crack. On Sunday we went back to find Hole in the Wall Beach. A rather difficult place to get to. My left hip still hurts from falling. But it was all worth it. Here is a picture.

Teton Workshop (Part 2)

Here is kind of a surprise shot. This was early in the morning at Oxbow Bend. There is of course the typical shot with Mount Moran reflecting in the water. I turned to the left to see this scene and took three shots. Yes, this is HDR... and I like it.

Teton Workshop

I haven't posted anything on this blog for a year now. I must have been busy with life and work instead of having time for photography.
At the end of September, I went on a photography workshop with my brother in law. The workshop was led by John Paul (http://www.jonpaulgallery.com) from Lake Tahoe. We had a wonderful time enjoying nature and taking pictures. I certainly learned a lot. Here are some pics from that trip. There are more to come.. Hopefully soon.

Phelan Building - San Francisco

This is the Phelan building on Market Street in San Francisco. One of those iconic SF buildings. This past weekend the weather in SF was perfect. I went hunting for pictures while my wife, kids and their friends went shopping nearby.
I think I'll have more pictures to come.
